Vanessa
is no longer a contracted provider with any insurance plans, because insurance companies can disrupt the therapeautic
relationship. Your confidentiality is of the utmost importance, and insurers as well as "big box" corporate therapy platforms
have no business dictating your care.
Vanessa can offer a superbill as an "out of network provider" if you have out-of-network benefits that you can submit to your insurance company directly for potential reimbursement.
*Please contact us for workshop and speaking engagement rates.
If you have a health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, I am considered an “out of network provider” and it may be possible for my services to be covered in full or partially. Please contact your insurance provider to verify how your plan assists you with compensation for psychotherapy services.
The following is a list of helpful questions to ask:
1. Ask if they cover mental health services.
2. Ask whether your plan covers Licensed Marriage Family Therapists and what kind of treatments are covered and excluded.
3. Ask if there is a deductible and if you have met the deductible.
4. Ask if there is a limit to the number of therapy sessions that are authorized.
Cancellations
Vanessa sees a limited number of clients so that she can be at her best with each client and provide them with excellent quality care. It is difficult for her to fill a canceled appointment with short notice. Therefore, Vanessa charges her full fee for all appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours notice. Insurance does not cover late cancellations, therefore, it is your responsibility for payment in these circumstances. Thank you for understanding.
Good Faith Estimates
As of January 1st, 2022, medical and mental health providers are required to provide you with a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical services:
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
- Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
